Sponsored by The NJ Aviation Hall of Fame
The NJ Aviation Hall of Fame (with the Hudson
Valley Stamp and Historical Society-HVSHS), held a special ceremony commemorating the
100th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers first sustained powered flight.
The Postal Service set up a temporary post office where the Wright Brothers "The

issued. Allen Doberman, HVSHS Chairman, designed a special cancellation stamp.
USPS postal workers Joris Chowaner and Melatework Heawe were on hand to make the
cancellation official.
Seventh grade students from Yeshiva of North Jersey (River Edge, NJ) attended a ceremony
honoring the Wright Brothers. The program began with welcoming remarks by Jeff
Herne, Director of the Aviation Hall of Fame. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. The
keynote speaker was Robert J. Vanderclock, Postmaster, Waldwick, NJ. Closing
comments were made by Rabbi David Kamans Ky, Dean, Yeshiva of North America.
The Aviation Hall of Fame also provided various media interviews about the history of
aviation.
